Overlea’s Balanced Attack Defeats Eastern Tech 46-6

Overlea’s high powered offense continues to roll as the Falcons used their passing and running attack in a 46-6 win over Eastern Tech at CCBC Essex.

Overlea quarterback Corey Perry continues to hurt defenses with his deep passes. He threw for over 200 yards and three touchdown passes to Marquise Kavanaugh, Khalil Wright; and a 60-yarder to Keyshon Green. Perry also had a rushing touchdown.

The Falcon’s running game was led by Jalon Brewer who had over 100 yards rushing, including a 3-yard touchdown run.

The Mavericks were able to use some special teams magic early. Aaden Register recovered kicker Logan Flores’ onside kick for Eastern Tech on the opening kickoff.

After an Overlea touchdown, Ameer Mowad returned a 70-yard kickoff return for the Mavericks to tie the game 6-6.

Maverick running back David Akinsuroju had over 50 yards on the night and quarterback Chiedozie Eighannam moved the ball for Easter Tech, but that is all the offense Tech would muster on the night as Overlea’s defense dominated once again.

Issac Edwards had a sack and Linebacker Da’Von Shell capped off the night for the Overea defense with a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Overlea improves to 5-2 and Eastern Tech falls to 2-5. The Falcons host Hereford on Friday. The Mavericks play at Owings Mills.

It was senior night for the Mavericks. Eastern Tech honored seniors Logan Flores, Ameer Mowad, Niko Kostrivas, Jibreel Mirza, and Isaac Parrish at halftime.
